FREE WEBINAR FOR HANDLING PRESSURE, DEALING WITH NERVES AND OTHER BIG EMOTIONS IN DOG SPORTS: WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

 What Is Pressure?

Find out what pressure is, and how it relates to our nerves or anxiety about competing, and why it makes us do daft things, that we wouldn’t normally do when not under pressure (like forget our cues, act weird). The pressure which we feel can make us act weird and smell weird to our dog. No wonder they don't perform as well!

Ability to Control the Feeling of Pressure, Feeling of Nerves or BIG FEELINGS!

Ever found nerves impeding your performance? Or regretted showing your dog  disappointment, or frustration? Learning how to turn the feeling of pressure into feeling of ease, nervousness into excitement, fear into confidence, trepidation into fun, and how to turn disappointment to gratitude is key to having a great time, and succeeding in dog sports.

Find Out How To Find Ease and Calm

Go from feeling fear, frazzled, worried about what onlookers may think, to feeling the confidence to shine with your dog, doing what you love!

  • If you’ve been to really great trainers

  • If you’ve done the work

  • If you’ve been clear, consistent and fair in your training

  • But STILL your dog doesn’t do in the ring what he does in training…

  • Could it be that you don’t need to do more training

  • We are 50% of the partnership, but do we work for 50% of the time on ourselves?

  • Could it be that YOU are the problem?

  • Could it be that your perceived pressure of a situation, be it pressure of competition, pressure of training in front of other people, pressure of your dog achieving what you wanted to achieve with them is what is causing unreliability?

  • Learn that YOU are the secret sauce to your dog training. If you learn to manage and handle feelings of pressure, feelings of anxiety around competing or training, and the big emotions you feel when you're working your dog, both you and your dog will start to SHINE both in training and in the ring!

I'm Kat Farrants

I've been asked now countless times, in the dog sport fraternity to share my knowledge of mindset, performance and the tools that decades of yoga and mindfulness practice have given me when competing and training my dogs.

I've been a yoga practitioner for 30 years, and 11 years ago, I founded what was awarded by OM yoga the 'UK's favourite online yoga platform 2023'.

I've trained dogs since I was a child. I've competed at the top level in confirmation showing, competitive obedience and IGP (Schuzhund) as well has having experience competing in agility and rally.

I'm sharing the tools, techniques and tips that took me from pre-beginners to Obedience Champion with one, special dog competing in the Crufts Obedience Championships, having mum and daughter Obedience Champions, and competing at National level in IGP and making history in IGP being the first UK Aussie to gain IGP3 and competed in National Level, all with a non-traditional breed!

I'm both a dog sports trainer and a coach for Mindset Mastery for Dog Sports, coaching competitors from beginners to top level, to overcome nerves and to compete with confidence.

"At first I was skeptical, but I felt everything shift, and realised how much I can improve my mental game and optimised my dog's training! I have learnt so much about myself, my dog, my training and I now have the start of a toolkit to train me and my dog. I also learnt how my thoughts can be too the detriment of my competing! Thank you, Kat."

From the first session I was better able to manage myself and my state of mind so that I was in a more optimistic and confident place. I hadn’t expected how much the course has helped me to connect with my dogs and be more empathic with them which has transformed our relationships both in and out of training.

What this course has actually done for me is huge!

"I was lucky enough to find this course to help with my mindset for dog sports.  I joined because I find that my stress at a trials really affects my dog.  While we are usually amazing and in flow at training, we are very inconsistent during a trial.  I never know what I’m going to get once I take his leash off.   I was hopeful that this course would help me control my nerves and therefore, be more calm and consistent for my dog.  What this course has actually done for me is huge!  I have really become aware of so many things that I can do to feel more in control of myself during competitions and feel less pressure and stress.  I now have many tools at my disposal to help me feel more prepared for many different situations, how to release stress and pressure, as well as how to prepare for the unexpected!  What I really cherished about the course was the sense of camaraderie and support I received not just from Kat, but also from the others in the course.  It was wonderful to know that we all have felt stress and anxiety during trials and to know that we weren’t alone.  I also loved the great suggestions and advice from others.  I highly recommend this course to anyone who competes with their dogs and wants to feel more in control of their emotions so they can have fun and experience joy in the trial ring!"
